In addition to Orcutt Winslow, previously highlighted for their inclusion in Architectural Record’s top 250 list – there are five other respected and award-winning firms using ArchiCAD – we are proud of their accomplishment and the recognition they’ve received.
San Francisco based firm, Anshen + Allen, listed in the AR Top 250, gained notoriety for last year’s efforts to help increase health-care access in developing countries. The award-winning firm donated its services, using ArchiCAD building information modeling (BIM) software to transform run-of-the-mill shipping containers into rapid-deployment health clinics. The firm, recently acquired by Stantec, is currently regarded as one of North America’s leading health care architectural firms—ranked 6th in Interior Design’s 2009 Healthcare Giants survey.
Another San Francisco firm, BAR Architects, established in 1966 has built a reputation for producing avant-garde projects with an environmental sensitivity was also named in the AR Top 250. The firm recently collaborated with Architects for Humanity to build a school in Haiti – donating their time to see the project through. Follow along as they document the project on the company’s blog, BAR Rebuilds.
CJMW is also named in AR’s Top 250 – a Winston-Salem, NC based firm that began in the early 1900s. CJMW’s rich history includes a client base that spans decades in some cases. The award-winning firm was recently recognized for excellence for their work on the BB&T Ballpark – named Ballpark of the Year and Best Sports/Recreation Project.
The name of Houston, Texas based Kirksey Architecture is also among the AR Top 250. The firm can claim slew of awards in 2011 alone, including being named 2011 AIA Houston Design Award winner for their work on Clean Line Energy’s 6,700 sf office space located in downtown Houston. It is clear Kirksey carries out their mission of “healthy buildings, healthy people, healthy planet,” in design philosophy and practice.
