Graphisoft Booth AIAAIA 2012 was held over three days in Washington, DC. The AIA chose the Walter E. Washington Convention Center as it’s venue – and attendees showed up by the thousands. The well-attended event resulted in quite an active GRAPHISOFT booth.

Throughout the day our work stations were points of interest for architects in attendance. Our experts showed the new features of the upcoming version of ArchiCAD 16 – demonstrating the MORPH™ tool, it’s BIM Components and built-in Energy Evaluation tools.

Design for sustainability and energy efficiency is well supported by ArchiCAD 16 – because it is equipped with a fully BIM-integrated, Built-in Energy Evaluation tool. All the tools found in EcoDesigner are incorporated into ArchiCAD 16 modeling software. This revision makes the architectural building model a building energy model. In this way, from the beginning of the design phase, a state-of-the-art automatic model geometry analysis function – a new benchmark for accuracy in energy simulation geometry data is available.

MORPH tears down any barriers to creative freedom, because it provides the ability to create absolutely any shape desired. Without geometric limitations, any edge or surface created with the MORPH tool can be moved and shaped in any direction. Extraordinary modeling flexibility with an intuitive graphical properties and popular modeling techniques such as push & pull makes MORPH extremely useful.

Graphisoft Booth AIAVisitors to the booth were also shown 3D displays of the BIMx app for iPad – an application that makes it possible to show off your design to anyone, anywhere. Recently GRAPHISOFT announced an update for that BIMx application – the BIMx 1.2.455 update for iPhone/iPad app now supports the iPad 3 Retina display. That means models can be shown with crisper images and professional, high-end visualization. With BIMx and GRAPHISOFT’s ArchiCAD, architects and designers can explore their project designs in a 3D environment that supports real-time 3D navigation identical to mainstream computer games. The Retina Display-compatible BIMx is available new and as an update (1.2.455) in the App Store and is free of charge.

After the show floor closed on the first day of the convention, GRAPHISOFT was happy to host our user group meeting, where an in-depth and up-close presentation of ArchiCAD 16 was given. The User Group meetings are a terrific way for GRAPHISOFT to stay in touch with the ArchiCAD community. It gives us all a chance to connect and share ideas, discuss “wish-lists” for the software and get a special demonstration of the new software. We’d like to thank all our users who came to the meeting, we hope you enjoyed the cookies!
