After a month long contest, the Facebook BIMx Competition received hundreds of submissions from 69 different countries. Just browsing through all the work that was uploaded was a visual treat. The new Facebook community, established for the contest was very active – with numbers reaching nearly 15,000 votes/likes received over the span of the competition.

Each and every contestant deserves heartfelt congratulations from the team at GRAPHISOFT. The judge’s panel (the editorial team of the ArchiCAD Facebook page) recognizes the effort that it took to put designs together and share them. We are sure that the community that now exists will continue to grow and inspire.

To win the competition submitted models in category #1 and #2 had to collect the most Facebook “likes” by end of the day October 31. Every single upload was eligible for category #3 in which the submissions were reviewed by the editorial team of the ArchiCAD Facebook page (all architects by profession). They selected the “best architectural model” for winning the 3rd iPad. The judgment was based on the following criteria: modeling (BIM attitude, details, sense of scale and mass); texturing (detail, authenticity), overall concept and originality; readability, surroundings-context.

The winners of the iPads are:

  1. In the “PRO” category
    Union Terminal
    by Michael Rensing

  2. In the “EDU” category

  3. Best BIMx model overall, picked by the editorial team
