GRAPHISOFT recently announced that one of the largest architecture, engineering and construction firms in Japan, Takenaka Corporation has equipped thousands of its field technicians with BIMx Docs. Takenaka is taking BIM data into the field, onto the construction site in a streamlined and paperless manner.

Dubbed, “Takenaka Smart Work”, the move is intended to improve productivity and communications. Since BIMx and BIMx Docs brings the ArchiCAD to the field, the workflow on site is simplified and managed through the use of iPads and mobile devices.

The adoption of BIMx by an established firm, such as Takenaka is indication of a few very important aspects of the award-winning BIM project presentation app. This widespread use of the app goes beyond saving a couple hundred dollars on document sets or giving your client a way to wow friends and family at a cocktail party by showing off their new home’s design. There is a smart, cost-effective way to ensure on-site construction quality and management efficiency. Its name is BIMx.

This is why BIMx and BIMx Docs was created. We have seen, in North America, firms and sole proprietors adopt BIMx and BIMx Docs into their workflows. The sky is the limit as far as the application is concerned – and we hope that the announcement from GRAPHISOFT and Takenaka inspires more firms to adopt the sleek, efficient and nimble process in a similar fashion.

Where are BIMx and BIMx Docs working in North America? Here, here, here, here, here and here just to name a few.
