ARCHICAD Powers Designs in LEED Dream Home Contest
We never tire of championing our long-established relationship between ARCHICAD and Education initiatives. That’s why we’re proud to supply ARCHICAD software for free to students, colleges, high schools and universities. It is our unique privilege to celebrate their successes as they develop career-ready skills and portfolios.
LEED Dream Home Winners Announced!
Once again, high school students from across the United States put their ARCHICAD knowledge to work competing in an annual National LEED Dream Home contest, sponsored by Arizona-based STEM curriculum developer, the CAD Academy.
The CAD Academy® provides instructors throughout the United States a way to give students an opportunity to get hands-on experience with BIM software, namely ARCHICAD. As a secondary and post-secondary engineering and architectural program, the CAD Academy designed its curriculum to inspire a new generation of engineers and architects at a price educators can afford. Their annual contest requires participants to comply with LEED requirements while designing their project in ARCHICAD, software provided by GRAPHISOFT.
Top ten finalist student, Cade Balwin says of his experience with the sotftware, “One of the main things that I learned is that ARCHICAD makes this daunting process of designing a house as easy as writing an essay.”
“We are so proud of all of the students who participated in our contest this year,” said Stephanie Kvamme, CAD Academy President. “They represent only the very best – which is clearly illustrated by one our judges mistakenly thinking the entries had been crafted by university students. ARCHICAD supports these students so that they can produce high quality drawings and plans.”
Congratulations to all the students and their instructors who had entries in this contest for job well done. In the video below we are proud to present the top ten finalists, among which you will see the winning entries as well.
