There’s a good reason why. They are clearly a structural engineering force to be reckoned with, having built a successful business by using ArchiCAD to be efficient, increase profits and shrink timelines.
But you don’t have to take just our word[s] for it, you can hear Patrick Bird speak at AIA Chicago. He’s presenting on day one. We expect him to wow you with details about his adoption of ArchiCAD into his business model and workflow has increased revenues and reduced budget overages.
The presentation is scheduled for Thursday, from 12:30-1:30 at the CE Theatre D, booth 2266 entitled Architects, Engineers, and BIM: Working Together Has Never Been Easier. Patrick Bird, S.E. President, of RiverStone Structural Concepts will be joined by Veronica Schreibeis, NCARB, LEED AP, Principal Architect, Vera Iconica Architecture for the session. They will discuss the ways they leverage new collaboration technology to gain a significant competitive edge.
Schreibeis characterizes her firm’s work with Riverstone as a well-rehearsed dance. Since they began working together, employing the BIM server and “learning all the steps” involved and coordinating on a variety of projects ranging from small mobile cabins to large fire stations and community centers, the team at Vera Iconica Architecture can see the positive impact it has had.
Schreibeis describes the process, “What we’re doing is creating a virtual job site. A consultant can come into the model just as a sub-contractor would enter a job site. We work with engineers to interior designers to add their expertise as part of a growing, project-specific knowledge base housed in the virtual model. When detailed information from each field of expertise is modeled in 3D, coordination and collaboration are seamless. All team members, including the client and contractor, can fly through the model for quick cognition of the project, thus starting off on the same foot to ensure a smooth process.”
“Our commitment to technology and using it to its fullest potential has helped us shorten the time period needed to create construction documents, which has allowed us to spend more time on the design and details. This way we can focus on project delivery as opposed to project deliverables.”
With ArchiCAD at the heart of the technologies being discussed, the presenters will help you discover ways to differentiate your design services from competitors and maintain growth in spite of economic fluctuations. The speakers have first-hand knowledge about how the software and collaboration efforts have strengthened their reputations regionally and nationally.
