Design/Build with BIM – at AIA San Francisco
This month at AIA San Francisco you’ll have a chance to hear hear Michael Chacon of MAC Architecture|Construction discuss how his firm integrates BIM technology, namely ArchiCAD, during the design phase to conceptualize the design, visualize the project, develop construction documents and produce building schedules.
Making it seamless
Chacon and his team at MAC Architecture|Construction have been successful in using ArchiCAD in creating a seamless transition between the architectural phase and construction phase of his projects. The process his firm uses begins with modeling in design, well in advance of construction, so his clients can make informed decisions early in the project that help mitigate potential costly change orders.
BIMx Docs Integration
Recently Michael began integrating his BIM model into the construction phase using BIMxDocs on the iPad. He will also discuss the potential opportunities for using this new technology to help inform the construction process.
The free program – worth 1.5 AIA CES LU’s is scheduled for Wednesday, March 19th at the AIA San Francisco office, located at 130 Sutter Street, #600 from 6-8pm.
