AIA North Carolina 2013 Design Conference – The Centennial
Congratulations to the AIA North Carolina as they mark their 100 year anniversary.
You are in for a treat at this year’s Design Conference – which begins on Wednesday, September 11th. There’s a birthday bash on the opening evening of the conference – including the debut of a feature exhibit of architects and architecture from all around the state. Summer gets a last splash with a fun and for-a-good-cause event – a Sand Castle Building contest. A portion of the profits from the contest will go to the contest judge, Ed Moore’s favorite charity, Mile of Hope. The competition will start at 12 pm on Thursday, with the judging Friday at 5pm. Winners will be announced at the Host Chapter Party Friday night.
The AIA NC has selected the theme of “Architect Activist” for this year’s event – during which they’ll be celebrating 100 years of existence. Fitting in well with this focus, GRAPHISOFT’s Josh Bone will present “BIM & the Small Firm” (3:30pm on 9/12, worth 1.5 HSW) – which highlights the ways in which ArchiCAD gives architects the tools they need to be proactive architect citizens and leaders. BIM is a technology that enhances efficiency and supports small firms and people making who make their living by engaging in smaller projects.
The North Carolina Design Conference will be held at the Wilmington Convention Center, 515 Nutt St Wilmington, NC. Click here for more information
GRAPHISOFT will be demonstrating ArchiCAD in booth 309 – please stop by!
