BIM for Small Firms at the 16th Annual ALA Midwest Architecture Conference
GRAPHISOFT is an exhibitor and presenter at the upcoming ALA Midwest Architecture Conference and product show. The comprehensive one-day conference and education program, now in its 16th year, is scheduled for September 30th. The conference will again be held at the Drury Lane Conference Center in Oak Brook Terrace, IL – located just outside of Chicago.
During the conference there will be six education sessions comprised of five seminars that are designed to provide architects and other building professionals the latest business and technical insight on topics that have a direct influence on day to day operations. Attendees will receive continuing education units and learning units for each seminar as indicated on the schedule. Found here.
GRAPHISOFT is presenting “BIM for Small Firms” during the conference. Led by GRAPHISOFT’s own LEED GA, BIM Consultant Leeswan Bolden and Jon Welker of Jerome Cerny Architects, the session – scheduled from 8:00 to 9:00 am – will address the widely shared perception that small firms and sole practitioners cannot take advantage of Building Information Modeling. It will examine how the value of BIM is worth the cost, complexity, training time, and productivity for small projects. Session attendees will learn the benefits of a BIM-enabled process for small firms – specifically how to leverage the model for more effective communication and review how your practice can implement BIM in a way that meets your specific needs and helps you achieve your goals.
