Introducing SCAD to ARCHICAD
A team from GRAPHISOFT North America visited beautiful Savannah, Georgia last month to present ARCHICAD to the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) community.
Students in the architecture and interior design program at SCAD were given an opportunity to see ARCHICAD in use. The GRAPHISOFT team delivered a series of lectures to Professor Arpad Ronaszegi’s Visualization Classes and a Studio Class, during which the students saw how they can turn their work into a high-end presentation using BIMx. This demonstration showed members of the Visualization Class an alternative to the software they’re currently exploring within their study of the building arts.
Fourth year students in the Studio Class (architecture and interior design) got a demonstration of ARCHICAD and how it works with Grasshopper/Rhino via a live connection.
In the evening our GRAPHISOFT team hosted a larger presentation for the Schools of Building Arts student body (which consisted of both architecture and interior design students) at the SCAD Museum. The capacity crowd learned the fundamentals of ARCHICAD, Grasshopper/Rhino-ARCHICAD live connection, BIMx and the VR functionality added to BIMx with Google Cardboard viewers, and received a special screening of By Design, the original digital content series by GRAPHISOFT.
Following the success of the on-site event, GRAPHISOFT offered a free, 30-minute webinar ‘Getting Started with ARCHICAD’, which taught students how to navigate through ARCHICAD after they have downloaded the software. The recorded version of the webinar can be viewed here.
